International Wine Challenge(IWC) / インタナショナルワインチャレンジ

 "OKINAWA TRADING" handles Japanese sake that won the gold prize at the International Wine Challenge held in London, England once a year. I would like to briefly explain the International Wine Challenge.

 The International Wine Challenge is a wine competition held in London, England every April. It started in London in Y1984 by two people, Robert Joseph and Charles Metcalfe, and since Y2007, the Japanese Sake Category has been established. The current judges are Metcalfe, Master of Wine -Derek Smedley, Tim Atkin and Sam Harrop. This International Wine Challenge is a prestigious award, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has adopted IWC's top-ranked Japanese sake for overseas diplomatic missions from Y2011. 　弊社では、1年に1回イギリス・ロンドンで開催されるインターナショナルワインチャレンジで金賞を獲得した日本酒のお取り扱いをさせて頂いております。ここでインターナショナルワインチャレンジについて、簡単に説明をさせて頂きたいと思います。

　インターナショナルワインチャレンジとは、はイギリス・ロンドンで毎年4月に開催されるワインコンペティションです。1984年に、ロバート・ジョセフ、チャールズ・メトカーフの2人によってロンドンでスタートし、2007年からは日本酒部門（Sake Category）が設けられております。現在の審査委員長はメトカーフ、マスター・オブ・ワインのデレク・スメドレー、ティム・アトキン、Sam Harropの4人が、日本酒部門は山仁酒店社長の大橋健一、サイモン・フォフストラが責任者を務めております。そして、2011年より外務省はIWCの上位入賞の日本酒を在外公館用に採用している権威のある賞です。(出典：wikipedia)
